VP-496 error Reply

 Hi. I have a VP-496 and I wanted to read the contents of my EEPROM ( TE28F640J3C ) I get this error:
>>Do not find Adapter! Set Adapter: Run <Read> without chip on the adapter!

What am I doing wrong here?

The devince starts up and does the initalization correctly. Firmware Ver is: 20.0. Even if I remove the chip from the WL-TSOP56-F640 I get the same error. Software version 4.6.3(11/4/2014). I tested the programmer on both Win7 and XP

 is your adapter new adapter? is there one IC on its PCB?
if not,it don"t use for VP496.

 Don"t put chip in the adapter. Put adapter in the socket and read.Then put chip in the adapter and do you need.

 Hi. I just got the adapter but it has no chip on it. Does it need to have a chip on it? (on the adapter it"s written: WL-TSOP56-F640 )

 Do your adapter has a 6 pin chip in the back of PCB? If it has that chip, you do like I said.

 it is old type adapter,it cannot use for VP496.
