I have a problem with PHILLIPS PCF8594C-2 (512x8) using my VP-480, software version 4.2.0, 27 May 2009.
When I read the chip, the programmer only reads the lower half correctly, the upper half (100H-1FFH) is read as FFH.
When I try to program the chip, the lower half is programmed and verified Ok, the upper part is FFH and does not verify.
Please advise.
I am running on Windows 98!
I have tested several chips, all chips were tested Ok on a different programmer (not Wellon), but they fail on my VP-480.
Regards,
D.
But I don"t understand how this can be a programmer problem.
To program PCF8594C 100-1FF its only bit #1 set to 1 for the address. Its not a physical pin address.
I am writing/programming lots of other chips (PIC, ATMEL, SPROM, EPROM) and I never had a problem with the programmer.
Did you successfully program a PCF8594C with all zero data with this software version?
This is an identical chip, the only difference is the protocol for writing 100-1FF.
I think the programmer is Ok, and the problem is with the software used for PCF8594C.
Thank you again, and a Happy New Year! :-)
