 HI,I JUST PURCHASED A WELLON VP-280 THE UNIT WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL I TURNED IT ON TODAY (I MADE NO ADJUSTMENTS)I AM NOW GETTING THIS MESSAGE(WARNING PROGRAMMER TROUBLE)1.THERE ARE DEVICE ON THE SOCKET 2.THE PROGRAMMER"S SOME FUNCTION IS DISABLED (WARNING: DEVICE PROGRAM MAYBE FAIL.I CHECKED MY POWER CONNECTION AND USB CONNECTION ALL GOOD.I EVEN LOADED THE PROGRAM ONTO MY LAPTOP COMPUTER AND I STILL GET THE SAME WARNING MESSAGE.ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT

 Please tell me which of the LED is bright just when you connect the USB cable(do not run the software and connect the AC adapter).If G/E is bright on green and LINK is bright on blue(or green) that indicate the programmer communication is OK.Then you can run wellon software,click "ignore" if it still shows the message you said.Wait until initiate success,click TEST-->self_test,tell me the first error shown, please printscreen and send it to me,my e_mail is:lark@weilei.com.cn

 I CLICKED ON IGNORE AND DID THE SELF-TEST HERE ARE THE ERROR MESSAGES INPUT HIGH,VPP OUTPUT IS HIGH SYSTEM TEST FAIL.TRY TO PRINT SCREEN WOULD NOT PRINT.

 When it shows the first error message, click "Print Screen" key, then build a new bmp file, then click the right cursor on the file to select "edit",then stick the clipboard image to the file.

 After self-test I have bright on red LED periodically during 1 minute approx.. , but I do nothing.

 when set jumper 1 and remove after connect to PC, periodically heated stabilizer L1117, while the red LED lights up more often

 Got the same error this morning "Programmer initializing failure..." :(
I"ve ignored it and tried "the self test" : input is HIGH, VPP output is HIGH....and the last word is "System Test Fail".

What can I do and where do this kind of error come from ?

Tried the JP1 like explained in the manual, i short cut the JP1 before plug the USB, the blue led bright but never the red/green one, if I take it out, the system is always in V12...impossible to downgrade it :(

 Please do system test (click TEST-->self_test in WELLON software),and do not put the chip on the programmer. tell me the first error shown, please PrintScreen and send the image to me and I’ll tell you how to solve it..

 so bad i didn"t see your message before....
yesterday, I"ve tried once again, and my internet connection stop while it update...

now i"ve only a red light.

Tried the JP1 method as explained in the user manual, "initiate success", firmware ver 1.0　but update always fail ! (strange thing the serial number is not mine (at the bottom of the software) ?

all other action (like read, verify etc.) say
Programmer trouble!ID : 005EBE044545B68C

I"ve bought it 6 months ago from an ebay store (dealexcel based in china)

 Please operate it as follows,
　　 1 Link the JP1, and open the software, the programmer was initialed success.
　　 2 Open the menu "help", and select the "system update"
　　 3 Wait the programmer　"system update success", and then pull up the JP1,closed the software.
　　 4 Open the software again, the programmer was initialed success.
　5 Used the programmer normally.

=> YES (only blue light)

Open the menu "help", and select the "system update"
=> YES

Wait the programmer　"system update success", and then pull up the JP1,closed the software.
=> NO always UPDATED FAIL! tried on 2 computers many times.

no other software exist to update it/unlock this problem ?
OR should I send it for repair ?

 I"ve contacted weilei by mail, it will cost ~102$ only in shipping charge for repair ! (my programmer is always on warranty, only 6 months)

take a look :
France to China (37$ )
China to France (65$).
More easy for me to buy a new one for nearly the same price...

Before putting it into the trash, i"ve opened it a last time and I saw a elements which is broken : C26, can you tell me the size/type of this element, i will change it myself. If you want I can send you a picture.

 The programmer is saled in China, it is only enjoy the warranty in China. If you can not contact with Ebay"s business, you need pay all freight.
C26 is 331.But it do not effect communication. You"d better select computer"s USB port on board (it is in the back of computer ),clean all USB port and try again.
