VP-PIC1 PIC Definition Problems Reply

kbsguru I have the VP-PIC1 programmer and have noticed that many of the PIC18 family of MCUs have the wrong memory size stated in the chip selection dialog. This is causing those MCUs to take a very long time to program. I.E. the PIC18F26K20 is listed with a size of F00410H bytes! This should be 10000H. kbsguru hi rq I think I know what the problem is.　The memory sizing is correct for these MCUs, however, data memory is shown as follows: Data Memory:000H---3FFH　 F00000H-F003FFH Therefore, when I load a hex image, it is loaded into a 15Mb buffer ans then the programmer spends over 3 minutes writing data to non-existent addresses!　Is there a reason why the data memory is specified this way?
