Hello. I think your software might be reading this chip out at the wrong size? I am getting 1 GB files when reading them but the datasheet seems to indicate they are 2 GB chips. Am I reading correctly? The datasheet is here:

This chip is a high-capacity memory. Our software can not make large caches applications. Therefore, we divided it into two parts, each part has 1GB. If you want to write the first 1GB, you can select "K9LAG08U0M(0)". If you want to write the last 1GB, you can select "K9LAG08U0M(1)".

Thanks, that makes sense. I will try that. I have also been unable to get consistent crc32 checksums out of it when reading the first (0) half of chips programmed with data. Is it normal for chips that have to be split like this to not give consistent crc32 sums? It usually means the pins aren"t clean or the chip has gone bad but I"m not sure with this type of chip.

Because this chip is a high-capacity memory, it will spend so much time to get the CRC checksums. So we only calculate the first 132M checksums.

Thanks for the reply. But what I mean is to calculate these crc32 checksums, I am saving the 1 GB size file onto my computer and then compressing them with WinRar to let it calculate a crc32 for the entire file. I do this for all my reads for all my chips so I can make sure multiple reads are coming out the same. The files for these chips are giving me different crc32s in WinRar for every read. It"s possible that the flash chips have gone bad, though. They are a few years old.

This high-capacity memory is possible have bad block. The chip manufacturer only ensure that the first block is good.
