benaknoun Hello everyone I have received my new programmer today, VP990 which i bought from an official distributor in Europe Do i have to and how can i register for the guarantee? benaknoun I selected correct chip type, i tried another chip, 24C04 and it says: "chip inserted backwards or damaged already" even if i turn the chip it says the same I did not desolder the chip from the board and i am using a pomona5250 test clip connected directly to the Zif socket, The problem is, always the same error: "chip inserted backwards or damaged already" I use the same clip on my other GQ-4X programmer and it works OK What can i do please? benaknoun Hi on my VP990, i do not have this "insertion test", i can"t see it! on "settings", "option" i have "log file setting" and it is set to "No". I do not see "insertion test"! At the bottom of screen, i have Program mode: "Communication OK" Serial number is shown, i am using version 4.3.3 (06.01.2012), firmware version 11.0 Do you have any other solution ? benaknoun Hi, i have de-selected "insertion test" run time screen shows "READ OK!" 0.45 sec. But when i edit buffer, buffer is full of FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF Maybe this programmer is not good? should i send it back to the supplier? i really don"t understand why it"s doing this, it is a new one! I will try to desolder the chip and put it on the adapter, and if it doesn"t work like that, i will send it back and get my money back, and it will be "end of story" with Weilei.. lxl Yes,de-select it. Check this option if you want the programmer to do an insertion test before erasing, programming, verifying etc. if not desolder the chip from the board ,this test maybe fail! Go back list [ Posted:2012-01-22 19:57:44 ]

benaknoun Hi, as i explained, i did not desolder the chip from the board, it is a simple 24C04 eeprom I have de-selected "insertion test" but i get only FFFFFFFFFF on buffer! lxl VP-990 is universal programmer.if you not desolder the chip from the board ,VP-990 only can use ISP mode,but in ISP mode,the board must be designed.VP-990 or universal programmer do not support your Method,other programmer is only a Special programmer,support less chips,so maybe it can program this chip by not desolder the chip from the board. benaknoun Hi, i have desoldered the chip, 93S46 from ST and placed it on the adapter directly on zif socket and programmer works OK ! Finally! However, i have compared the buffer data to the one from GQ-4X ( also read with same adapter ) and data is slightly different For example, on address 00000010H i have 00 00 6C A4..on VP990. lxl M93S46 have 16 bit mode to read/write. VP-990 display 16 bit data by low 8 bit--- high 8 bit maybe GQ-4X display data by high 8 bit ---low 8 bit. Go back list [ Posted:2012-01-25 11:09:55 ]
