 Hello
Is it possible to read/write a chip, for example 24C04 using a test clip directly on the chip / board, without desolder the chip
Or, do i have to desolder the chip?

 OK , usually , but is it possible to read on board? without desolder? will it work?
Because on my new VP990 it does not work!
it says: chip inserted backwards or damaged already !

Any ideas what the problem is?

 OK then, it is strange because on my basic universal programmer, it is　possible.
The VP990 cost me 7 times the price of my basic pogrammer ( GQ-4X ) and it can"t read on board ?
