VP-390 refusing to program 27C512"s Reply

 Hey there. I have a VP-390, and when I try to program a 27C512, it starts programming and then errors after 5 seconds or so. Here is the error:

>>.Auto Program......
>>.Blank Check......
>>.Program......
>>Device Address:00000000H　Device Data:FFH　Buffer Data:F3H
>>Auto Program fail!
>> 4.59Sec

I have tried with many 512"s, including new. Software version 4.6.4, firmware 20.0. Please help! Thanks

 You can program the 27c512 with other programmer to check if the chip is bad. And when you program this chip with vp390, you"d better connect the adapter power first. Also you can do the self_test with vp390.

 Hi. Don"t have another programmer, but have tried 5+ chips including one I recently ordered from buyicnow, they all have the same issue. I am using the power supply. Self_test passes with no errors.

 I had the same problem with my VP-390.　It turned out to be the voltage regulator which was dead and needed to be replaced.　Do the self test and use a multi-meter to see if the voltages coming from the VP-390 and correct

 In the "Self-test" dialogue box, select "VPP Vol Cal (12V)",then click "test", dial the pointer of the multimeter to "20V"testing range,put the probe between the two pins as shown on the soket. Read the multimeter.

 It selects pins 19 and 24, and I get 12.10V from those. Then I press Stop, and it"s over. is that what is supposed to happen? Thanks for the help.

 The VPP voltage is right.Please check the voltage of VCC Vol Cal.3V.If it is right,please tell me the S/N of your VP-390.

 The 27c512 always are old chips, hardly have new chips. Your chips may be bad. You"d better write them with other programmer to check. Also you can write other chip with vp390 to check the programmer.

 I"ve been programming lots of 27c010, 27c4096, M27C322, 27c256 etc and the programmer has been fine. I don"t have a second programmer or access to one. I"ve tested 5-10 27c512"s and none work - some of these were newly purchased from icbuynow. Nothing I can do?

 if your programmer"s self test is OK. if you can program 27C010/27C256.maybe your programmer is OK!you need check your 27C512.maybe it is bad.The 27c512 always are old chips.now mostly no new chip.

 So what should I do next? I"m pretty convinced it"s the programmer that"s at fault, I"ve used tons of chips now, same error.
