VP-280, select with ActiveX error 429

Hi,

I just bought my VP-280. The installation was OK on my PC (WinXP Pro).　The program runs fine. Selftest says that everything is OK.

However, when I click on "Select", I got the error message "vp3slt, runtime error 429, the activeX component cannot create the object". So I get no selection windows and the programmer cannot be used.

I downloaded your latest version 4.3.2(03/06/2011) and get the same error. I tried google but didn"t find any solution.

I found the solution to fix the ActiveX error 429.
You need to run a Microsoft utility program : "Microsoft Office 2000/Windows 2000 Registry Repair Utility". You can download it from the Microsoft website here.
Simply run this exe file and your registry will be cleaned to let the Wellon program run fine.
I hope it will help other persons.

The programmer is saled in China, it is only enjoy the warranty in China. If you can not contact with Ebay"s business, you need pay all freight. C26 is 331.But it do not effect communication. You"d better select computer"s USB port on board (it is in the back of computer ),clean all USB port and try again.

i have take the wellon vp 590 and when read the st95160 eprom and then i save or i write again the file is biger tha 2048kb that is the original and i write like 2064kb?write at the end another one line the end is 800 and goes 810 and i delete the last line.it is ok?or it is wrong?what i can do?

When you read or write the data, you needn"t delete the last line data. You can save or load the file normally. The program can run normally.It didn"t effect the result.

ATtiny2313 on VP980 failed (part2)

That"s ok but now is problem at address 00... into hex file is 3A but programmer write 1F... verification ignore this first byte and say OK but this first byte was changed to 1F and my project do not work. When I program same chip in another programmer, they program all bytes OK (include first) and project wok properly.
Please fix it.

Please correct this.

i find Q17 + Q7 Blown.

Are they "SS8050　Silicon Epitaxial Planar Transistor" or
"BZX84C11 Small Signal Zener Diode"

I"m guessing their Transistor"s　But would like you to confirm the actual part please.

VP-280 Device Support

Hey, i have purchased a VP-280 one year ago and im very surprised because there is no updates for this model, i try to program ATMEGA88 microcontroller , no updates at all, just more advanced programmers have updates. when i purchase the programmer they tell me "regular updates via internet.. " but this is not real, atmega88 could be supported by this programmer, there is not technical nor hardware limitation, just the needs that i spend more money in other more expensive programmer!

Sorry, but this is not true. Im electronic engineer, the atmega88 use the same circuit as atmega8　( supported ) only protocol to save fuses is diference, Wellon dont support a lot of chips because They want to sell VP980 , no VP280. thisis the real reason! Jorge

VP-280 G/E light remains red.

I was having some trouble reading 2764s so I decided to download the latest software and perform a system update. The system said that the update was successfull but now the G/E light remains red and it fails the self test. I have switched everything off and back on again and also tried the update again but it still does not work.

VP-PIC1 PIC Definition Problems

I have the VP-PIC1 programmer and have noticed that many of the PIC18 family of MCUs have the wrong memory size stated in the chip selection dialog. This is causing those MCUs to take a very long time to program. I.E. the PIC18F26K20 is listed with a size of F00410H bytes! This should be 10000H. There a many like this.　Could you please take a look at this and either suggest a work-around or supply an update with the corrected memory sizes?　Many thanks

According to the formal company"s data,we set the memory size.The programmer spends some time to read the signal,and repeat it again and again.when the programmer reads the signal,it writes data .

Program option is enabled so we load buffer with random data and try to program.
We get the following message:

my device is SST39VF1601.When reading,I think it doesn"t read the security ID data that is a user programmable. It Security ID data access command is the same as regular CFI read command but the third value in the third command is different. I hope it won"t be big problem for you guys who created this nice tool to add a support for Security ID read and write also in way of checkbox maybe?

I have a VP-280 and tried to read the contents of M27C256B and M27C512 OTP from SGS Thomson. The VP-280 could not identify these OTP"s. I read the contents of these OTP and they are all wrong when I compared the right content in hard copies. I had checked my PLCC adapter pin by pin with multi-meter and it was ok. Is there any clue to solve this problem?

checksum bug?

Hello

I don"t know maybe it is only with this device but reading the checksum from the same device each time gives different values. The content of the flashdevice is not being changed why should checksum value be different each time you press the read flash button? Any idea or it is programmer bug?

You can try to change the VCC. May be can change the VCC to 2.95V, 2.90V, 2.85V......,until about 2.7v.And before read the chip you"d better select the option "Insertion Test".

Hello, First of all I would like to thank you for the great support of the product and your quick answers. I faced this problem recently. I try to read the memory of SST39VF3202 flash device. Everything seems to be ok until I try to copy the hex file onto other flash. It seems like some information is missing. Is it possible that this regions of the memory (like Security ID or something else)can not be accessed by Wellon? In that case how can they be accessed, are there any bits that can be set? How to see what regions those are?　Why does wellon not complain about it saying　something like "memory address from x to y can not be accessed"? Thank you in advance for your advice and help. We have tested this chip, it’s OK. You can download our latest software first. And then before you program this chip, you must connect the adapter power first. If you blank check fail, please erase this chip before program it.

I have VP-280B. It will program GAL16VP8-25LJ if I use adaptor. This is PLCC　package. I need to program GAL16VP8B-25LP. This is 20 pin DIP package. Can you supply driver to allow program of DIP package device?

vp-890 dead, any hope?

Hello everyone,

I was updating the firmware of the　vp-890 (soft v 4.3.2) when I got messaage "Program file" and that was all. Now when I try to connect it, usb port doesn"t recognize it. I believe the software wasn"t written correctly and that is why mcu is dead now, hence USB interaface. Can anyone tell how to solve this issue, has anyone faced it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

vp-290 at28c256, at 29c256 in PLCC32

Can you add please at28c256 and at29c256 in PLCC32 package for adapter WL-PL32-U1 and vp-290 programmer?
